Training

Youth Engagement, training for Volunteer Wardens, Practical Skills for Issuing FPN’s are just some of the new courses the LT&RC training team are developing following requests from clients.

LT&RC is using its Investing In Quality License to accredit a range of courses necessary for successful enforcement. These include the Certificate in Practical Skills for Issuing Fixed Penalty Notices, Excellence in Written Statements/Pocket Notebooks and Court Skills.

Local Authorities now have a duty to involve residents in improving services and influencing local decisions. Performance will be evaluated through the new Comprehensive Area Assessments.  To equip front line staff enable local people take more control, LT&RC is developing courses & briefings in engagement models, best practice, community prioritisation of services and participatory budgeting.

Restorative Justice has enormous potential to bring together the parties who have been affected by an offence or incident to collectively resolve the specific issue. It has proved effective in the criminal justice system. LT&RC is currently looking to adapt this approach so that it can be used to address Anti Social Behaviour. Read more about these developments in the October newsletter.

If you are interested in any of the courses listed above or if you would like to discuss a particular training need, contact Fiona Jamieson.
