This scheme started 6 years ago and covers a variety of work to the benefit and the enhancement of our local communities. Community Services was approached by a member of the Rangers Team suggesting works that may be suitable for the Community Services to carry out.

A community services supervisor met us on site to assess proposed works and decide if it met their criteria taking into consideration their health and safety requirements. This process is an essential part of the procedure to decide the suitability of the work or project. A superb working relationship has been achieved to the benefit of both the services that the City Rangers provide and the requirement for Community Services to participate in community work.

Since November 2007 we have carried out eight projects covering 17 days of joint working with a total of 432 working hours provided by community services team. These projects include shrub clearing, fencing, nature path repair, fly tip, litter, painting, hedge laying.
