About us ...

Who we are:

We are a team of skilled practitioners who help frontline professionals deliver community renewal excellence. We believe in strong and prosperous communities, and provide tailored learning and expert consultancy to those working in local neighbourhoods all across the capital.

Our training takes place at the LT&RC training centre, at outside locations, and can be tailored to the needs of trainees and those organisations booking the training with us. On the left each page gives further information on the individual training options, including who the trainers are, what past trainees have had to say about what they have learned and accreditation.

About us:

The London Training & Resource Centre is made up of a team of expert practitioners helping London deliver excellence across the community renewal agenda. With a shared commitment to strong and prosperous communities, we provide tailored learning opportunities and consultancy to practitioners working in the capital's local neighbourhoods.

Expert practitioners helping you to deliver excellence:

All of our products and services have been carefully developed to contribute directly towards addressing national agendas at a local level. These include: Community Safety, Neighbourhood Management, Community Cohesion and Children & Young People.

Customised training solutions:

As a centre committed to the Excellence Standard, quality underpins all aspects of our delivery and development. As a City & Guilds and NCFE approved training and vocational qualification centre, the LT&RC provides training opportunities designed to enhance both team and individual success. We offer training and professional development programmes that are flexible in content and delivery, so that we can match your specific requirements.

Benchmarking best practice and inspiring innovation:

With a mission to continually inspire innovation, the LT&RC is dedicated to sharing best practice and celebrating success in community renewal. The LT&RC also continues to be the first line of support to wardening services. It is through our work in wardening that the centre has developed a unique understanding of the skills and knowledge required by all those working within the wider neighbourhoods agenda.

Our Investor in Excellence Status ...

Our key relationships:

The London Borough of Southwark is LT&RC's accountable body.

LT&RC receives funding from Capital Ambition to support our work in neighbourhoods. The funding may be used to share funding throughout the public sector but not for commercial gain.

LT&RC has received grant funding from CLG in the past and we continue to align our services with CLG’s Community Renewal agenda.

There are nine principles of the Investors in Excellence standard:

Leadership; Policy & Strategy; People; Partnership & Resources; Processes; Customer Results; People Results; Society Results; and Key Performance Results. To achieve the Investors in Excellence Standard, an organisation must demonstrate that it has addressed all nine principles through evidence against the indicators.

With regard to LT&RC Richard J. Lloyd-Mullen FRSA ACQI, North of England Excellence Assessor was 'particularly impressed with the planning process and the teams commitment and dedication' and 'has responded well to new challenges, and effective management has helped support the development of an efficient centre able to respond flexibly to regional demand.'
